Social Media Marketing Project: CINESCENTS Perfumes

Social media marketing plays a critical role in shaping modern D2C brands, especially when the target audience is young and trend-driven. CINESCENTS, a Bollywood-inspired perfume startup, approached us at an early stage when they were ready to step into social media but lacked clarity, structure, and direction. Our role was to build their entire social media presence from scratch and turn confusion into consistent reach and visibility.

ABOUT CLIENT

CINESCENTS is a creative perfume startup built around a unique Bollywood-inspired concept. Each fragrance is named after iconic Hindi cinema movies, and the scent profile, tone, and mood of every product matches the emotion of its movie name. As a new perfume brand, CINESCENTS wanted to attract a young, style-conscious audience that connects with cinema, emotions, and storytelling.
Like many startups, the brand had strong ideas but no clear social media foundation. There was no content system, no posting strategy, and no defined brand voice across platforms.

Objective

The primary objective of this social media marketing project was to establish CINESCENTS as a recognizable perfume brand on social media and target the 18–34 age group effectively.

Key goals included:

  • Building a strong social media presence from scratch

  • Creating brand awareness among young audiences

  • Improving reach through organic social media optimisation

  • Developing a consistent visual and content identity

  • Preparing the account for future social media advertisement and paid campaigns

The founders were confused about how to reach their audience — our job was to bring clarity and execution.

What We Did?

This project was managed end-to-end as a complete social media marketing campaign.

1️⃣ Competitor Research & Niche Analysis

We started with detailed competitor research to understand how major perfume brands and D2C players were performing on social media. We analyzed their:

  • Content formats

  • Posting frequency

  • Engagement patterns

  • Caption styles and hashtag usage

All insights were documented in a Google Sheet, which we attached to below  to showcase transparency and planning depth.

2️⃣ Content Strategy & Content Calendar

Based on research, we created an initial 10-day content calendar to test audience response. The calendar included:

  • Product introduction posts

  • Bollywood-themed creatives

  • Reels for reach

  • Stories for engagement

Once early traction was observed, we scaled this into a long-term posting plan. This structured calendar became the backbone of the brand’s social media optimisation strategy.


 

3️⃣ Social Media Creatives & Theme Execution

We conducted detailed briefing sessions with graphic designers and video editors, explaining CINESCENTS’ Bollywood theme, premium positioning, and purple-toned brand color palette.

Using professional tools and AI-assisted workflows, the team created:

  • Static posts

  • Carousel posts

  • Reels

  • Stories

All social media creatives followed a consistent cinematic and luxury tone.


4️⃣ Caption Writing, Keywords & Hashtag Research

Once content was delivered, we refined and polished every post as social media managers. We focused heavily on:

  • Caption psychology

  • Keyword placement

  • Targeted hashtags

  • Strategic tagging

Separate sheets were prepared for keyword research, hashtags, and tagging strategy to support organic reach and future social media ads.


5️⃣ Posting Strategy, Scheduling & Engagement

Content was posted consistently at high-traffic time slots, strictly following the content calendar. We:

  • Used trending audio and formats

  • Tagged big niche players for visibility

  • Posted in all formats: posts, carousels, reels, and stories

  • Maintained a clean, premium profile layout

After posting, we actively engaged with comments and followers to improve reach and build trust. Instagram and Facebook were the primary focus platforms.

How It’s Going / Result

CINESCENTS transformed from a zero-presence account into a visually strong and engaging perfume brand on social media. The structured social media marketing approach helped the brand gain reach, consistent engagement, and clarity in positioning.

The account is now optimized, audience-ready, and scalable for social media advertisement campaigns. Most importantly, CINESCENTS now has a repeatable system instead of random posting.
